Concrete is almost ideal choice for construction, therefore houses are often built of concrete blocks. ALFA TRUST is your trusted concrete blocks supplier!

Concrete blocks have many advantages. Their characteristics are similar to those of bricks, but the price of blocks is much lower, making them more cost-effective material. Houses made of such blocks get built much faster, they are nicely-looking, durable, fire-resistant, and sound-proof. The service life of concrete houses is very long, which makes the use of concrete even more cost-effective.

The use of concrete blocks

The use of concrete block significantly expands the possibilities of construction. Using concrete blocks, you can implement any design solution, apply the desired architectural style, and most importantly – to create structures of even the most complex shapes. Blocks can be of any color; their surfaces are polished or rough-finished.

Features of concrete blocks

Concrete blocks can be faced with a variety of materials: bricks, plaster and so on. The basis of concrete is aerated concrete, foamed concrete, gas silicate. Concrete has a cellular structure. It incorporates the best properties of wood and stone – high strength and sound-proofing properties of stone, and thermal insulation properties of wood.

Conventional concrete is much heavier than cellular, so the use of cellular concrete allows to use lighter foundation of the house. During the erection of walls, blocks are bonded with cement mortar or special glue. It results in strong walls, durable and reliable structure.

If a house is built in compliance with all the rules of block laying process, it will be able to withstand the devastating impact of natural disaster. Concrete blocks are resistant to termites, unlike wooden houses. To make a house resistant to revelry of elements, certain rules must be followed: blocks must be laid in compliance with the process, reinforcement must be of a very high quality, and voids must be filled with sand and pebbles. Such a house will stand even if it gets hit by a tsunami or an earthquake. In addition, in case of fire, concrete blocks retain temperature very well, preventing the spread of fire. Houses made of concrete never crumble or burn out completely during fires. In contrast to concrete slabs, poured concrete is prone to cracking, which makes the use of blocks more advantageous. In bitter cold, a house made of concrete slabs retains more heat, which saves the energy used for heating the house.

There is a wide range of variously decorated concrete blocks available on the construction market nowadays.

Decorative finishing looks much more attractive than a regular block with a plain smooth surface. And this is what makes such blocks so popular.

Even with a large range of colors and shades of concrete blocks, they look unattractive, so most people prefer to decorate blocks in various ways.

The most common of those are plastering or painting of concrete blocks to disguise their plain texture.

Siding will make a house look modern and fashionable, and this method of decoration is perfect for giving the house a traditional look.

Wall blocks are durable elements made of various types of concrete and used for the construction of load-bearing and non-load-bearing structures. They are suitable for the construction of external and internal walls of houses and outbuildings, basement, fence. Concrete blocks can vary in size, shape (smooth and tongue-and-groove), filling (solid and hollow) and composition. The latter criterion serves as the basis for dividing concrete blocks into several categories: made of heavy, light and cellular concrete.

Wall blocks of heavy concrete are suitable primarily for the construction of foundations and plinths – they are strong, solid and can withstand heavy loads. In addition, they are resistant to aggressive environment: cold, heat, sudden changes in temperature and high humidity.

Light wall blocks are more widely used in low-rise construction – they are used for erection of walls and as insulation. To make concrete lighter, they add porous aggregates into it: pumice, slag, expanded clay.

A wall made of aerated concrete blocks has high strength, but a low thermal efficiency. It is therefore advisable to use concrete blocks together with effective insulation, that is to build a multi-layer wall with different types of lining (facing bricks, plaster, decorative stones, etc.).

The use of concrete blocks, due to their size and perfect geometry, allows to build at rapid pace, which in turn reduces the cost of work and makes it possible to complete construction in a short time. Hollow blocks open many design solutions for builders. For example, in order to make mount points in the wall (for hinged furniture, radiators, etc.) and to allow anchoring, voids in the blocks at that points can be filled with concrete or mortar.

Concrete hollow blocks are a great building material that can be used to build cottages, summer houses, fencing structures, industrial premises, amenities buildings, garages.

Many different types of blocks are used in the construction process. For example, builders can use foundation, wall, hollow and solid, decorative, fence, prefabricated, partition, cellular, cement and concrete blocks, road, concrete and expanded clay blocks, light, vibropressed, sand and concrete blocks, basement , reinforced, expanded clay and polystyrol blocks, blocks for retaining walls, cladding, gas concrete, ventilation, fence building blocks, small, large blocks, blocks with foam or made of foam, U-shaped blocks, blocks for ditches, for paths, garages, pools, plinths, basements, cellars, blocks made of wood chips and of foamed concrete.

Of course, there are no ideal construction materials. But you must agree that concrete blocks for the construction of walls at reasonable price, resistant to frost, heat, and chemicals that allow to quickly build warm and robust structures are not a bad option!

The benefits of the construction with concrete blocks are obvious!
